Make-up...people
say it can make anyone look beautiful! Undoubtedly, beauty comes from within
yourself, and makeup is just there to help you feel prettier and give you the
confidence to strut your amazing self down the street.
I’m personally not
a big fan of everyday make-up, but I do like bringing out the best in me
whenever I go for a party or an outing. Thanks to my genes, I have a clear
skin. Plus I’ve never experimented with any beauty brand other than L’Oreal
Paris. It has always worked for me and suits my skin type. In routine I use
L’Oreal Paris’s UV PERFECT Lightly Tinted SPF 30+ Daily Moisturizing
Lotion. It gives you a hydrated and smooth finish along with prevention from
sun damage.

Coming to make-up products now...my
beauty kit includes:
We all are aware of the basics of make-up application...Washing
the face properly and then applying the primer. However, ensure that you do
your eye-makeup first so that you can clean up any traces of it on your face
later. Then do the face. Mix your foundation with moisturizer and apply it on
your face. Dab on the concealer where required, use the slightest amount of
pressed powder and give that rosy effect to your cheeks with the blush. I will now give you some of the tricks that I use
while applying make-up ;)
For the eyes:
- I have small eyes so I do not ever line my lower waterline with dark color kohl. Always apply it outside the waterline.
- Instead of lining your lower waterline with a white/nude pencil which is usually done to make eyes look bigger, just line your upper waterline, this looks a lot more natural and is less visible but still has the same effect.
- Tap on your mascara at the root of your lashes instead of wiggling it. This makes lashes appear even thicker and ensures an even application.
- I usually struggle with the application of eyeliner. So instead of gliding the brush along my lash line, I press the brush into my lash line starting from the outer corner of the eye and working my way in. It saves all the hassle to create a straight line.
- While applying an eye shadow, don’t make any crease on your eyelids and then fill it up. Instead get a blending brush and blend the color to give a softer look. Always start from the outer corner of the eye with a darker color and keep blending it into the eye so that it gets lighter as you work your way to the inner corner.
For the face:
- Always use a primer for smooth finish.
- Apply the foundation with your fingers so it glides over the skin easily, but blend it in and out with a foundation brush. This will give you a flawless, natural looking finish.
- Mix a small amount of foundation with a primer instead of your moisturizer. This gives a sheer, dewy, longer effect and it helps the product to sit on the skin rather than being absorbed. If your skin is dry than then prep the skin with a lightweight moisturizer later to prevent a patchy look.
- If you want a sculpted face, buy another shade of foundation a tone lighter than your skin tone. Apply a foundation in a shade lighter on your T-zone and for the outer parts of your face use a darker tone.
- Do not ever rub the concealer while hiding the blemishes, instead do a dot application and dab it with your fingers. If you’re out of concealer, you can use a small amount of dried up foundation from the lid instead.
- Use the least amount of Face powder to avoid looking too made up. I personally just slightly swipe the brush across my face.
- Apply your blush while your foundation is still damp, this way the color looks more intense, but still natural given you blend it well.
- Don’t ever apply blush on the hollows of your cheekbone. Apply it to the apples of the cheek and then blend up towards the temples.
- You can apply a little blush on the bridge of your nose to give a more sculpted look to a round/oval face.
- I believe that I have a perfect cupid bow on my lips. So I use a white eye pencil very softly around the cupid’s bow of my lips, to draw attention to them and make them look more feminine.
- I hate applying lip colors. The only shade I like is a pretty coral, and I haven’t found that perfect shade yet. So, what I do is that I apply a bright red lipstick. Then I leave it for 5 minutes and Follow by blotting with a pre-moistened face wipe 4- 5 times lightly wiping some of the color off. Then I use my favorite clear gloss in the centre of the bottom lip and top of the cupids bow to get that perfect plump.
- Use a white eye pencil very softly around the cupids bow of your lips, this draws attention to them and make them look more feminine without looking over the top like concealer or highlighter.
